I decided to make ROADSTRIP shortly after spending the bulk of last summer with Max Ryder and Jake Bass making “Project GoGo Boy.” We laughed, we bickered, there was yelling, and at times tears, but in the end it was a summer I will never forget and will always treasure. These two young men — both skilled and talented performers — are like any of us. They’re filled with hopes and ambition yet plagued by the fear of the unknown and what’s next. At the end of the summer, I knew I wanted to make another film that represented the comedy, melodrama, insanity and sexiness that is “MAX & JAKE” who are collectively referred to as “JAX” by their fans!
The JAX experience is something to behold – I am constantly amazed at what comes out of their mouths and the thoughts processed by their brains. And together, they are the perfect storm of emotional calamity. Good, bad, funny, dark, loving, and kind. One moment, we’d be laughing our asses off and then I’d turn away and they’d both be at blows — literally fists out! Fights were often followed by a quick make-up and then, see and opportunity, they would use their velociraptor like skills to try and maneuver and bend me to their collective will!
So what makes their off-screen and on-screen relationship special? They are both having a shared experience — they are complete opposites, they are competitive, and they are boys grabbing life by the balls and not letting go! Whatever it is, they are stronger and more powerful when they work together — feeding off the credibility and energy of one another.
What you will see in the coming months is a four-part film series that reflects what I have had the pleasure and great opportunity to witness and now capture on film — the coming of age of two young “porn stars” both maneuvering The Biz while trying to find themselves in the process.

EPISODE 1: Ashton Webber fucks Max Ryder
Jake Bass and Max Ryder had quite a wild ride last year as the stars of the much-lauded reality porn series, Project GoGo Boy. Known for their confidence, wickedly outgoing personalities, and bangin’ bods, “Jax” had more fame, publicity gigs, and devoted fans than they ever thought possible. They danced, they fought, they fucked, they grabbed New York City by the cock and proved to the world they had something to say. And they survived.
Now Max and Jake are back to bring you the first episode of their new reality porn series, RoadStrip. It’s been months since GoGo Boy, and we are re-acquainted with the unlikely duo as they pack up and get ready to take a much deserved vacation from the city. At once enemies, then frenemies, then fuck buddies, then finally bonified reality “porn” stars, Max and Jake are ready to find out who they really are by embarking on a cross-country RoadStrip!
Equipped with a map, a stripper pole, and an RV named after the late Amy Winehouse, the two hit the road without a clear destination in mind. And while they don’t really know where they’re going, they do know they’ll always have each other… whether they like it or not. Max kicks things off by revealing a big secret for the cameras, while Jake’s addiction to Grindr and jerking off becomes a bigger and bigger problem to Max. They soon find themselves trying to out-annoy each other, which ultimately crescendos when they attempt to join forces and erect their stripper pole.
The episode takes a turn when Max breaks away for a moment and opens up to us about the differences between his very public porn persona (“Max”) versus his personal life (“George”). In this intimate interview, secrets are revealed, lines are blurred, and porn suddenly becomes much more than just sex on film. What we ended up capturing on camera was an authentic human being stripping away both his real and metaphorical clothes!
EPISODE 2: Jake Bass fucks Levi Karter
This week on RoadStrip, Max and Jake hit up Boston for an appearance at the nightclub The Machine. But due to the frigid weather conditions, they make the rash decision to pack everything up and hightail it to California in a speedy five days.
With only Skittles, Red Bull, and a couple “Rules of the Road” keeping them sane, Max and Jake somehow make it to Palm Springs and enjoy the California sun by renting some bikes and discussing the upcoming CyberSocket Web Awards where they’re nominated for Best Sex Scene and Best Newcomer. But just when things seem to be going well, Max accuses Jake of hitting on guys that are “close to him” to feed his own ego and everything spirals out of control.
After a fight erupts, Jake escapes for the day to a coffee shop and meets the handsome barista, Levi Karter. The two click instantly and before long, they’re wrestling in a public park, checking out historical landmarks in Palm Springs, and licking ice cream cones during a night out on the town. Like all good friends, Jake and Max easily rebound from their earlier disagreement when Jake brings Levi back home for the night. And being a protective friend, Max has a few questions for Levi as the three sit around the campfire. But what Jake really wants is some quality “alone time” with Levi and will not tolerate Max overstaying his welcome.
This episode will give you a deeper understanding of how complex the relationship between Jake and Max really is. At times silly, jealous, loving, and angry, the power of “Jax” is still built firmly on the foundation of competition — and Project GoGo Boy has long since passed. The explosive ending to this episode is sure to raise just as many eyebrows as it raises dicks!
EPISODE 3 – THE BANGOVER: Jake Bass, JD Phoenix & Max Ryder
Max Ryder and Jake Bass have finally made it to their (final?) destination, Hollywood! With several events lined up for them to attend, “Jax” are a hot commodity in the land of celebrities and spray tans… but to them, they’re just regular guys excited to see where this crazy adventure takes them.
Even arriving at their hotel is a treat to Max and Jake — they no longer have to worry about being crammed in an RV and washing their hair in the sink! But they can’t rest for long because they’re expected to be at the Cybersocket Web Awards, they’re first-ever porn event where Max is nominated for Best Sex Scene and Jake is nominated for Best Newcomer. Whether they win or lose, they’re completely awe-struck at the event where they’re immediately recognized everywhere they go.
The next afternoon is spent recovering and exploring their favorite Hollywood landmarks before they head over to West Hollywood where they’re hosting Cocktails with the Stars. And it’s here where they meet Aiden and JD — two hot guys that are just what Max and Jake need after the chaotic past two days. There’s dancing, partying, and even Pepto-Bismol involved, all creating a night they’ll never forget… if only they could remember what exactly happened! Thankfully with our film crews and photographers, Max and Jake are able to somewhat piece their lives together during quite possibly the most hard-hitting “bangovers” they’ve ever had!
EPISODE 4 – IN YOUR DREAMS: Jake Bass, Kevin Warhol & Max Ryder
It’s been a wild trip for Max and Jake — filled with laughs, fights, hook-ups, new friends, and new experiences. In the beginning, they were two young stars who had just gotten their big break. And after embarking in their RV cross-county from New York to LA, conquering Palm Springs, porn awards shows, and one intense “Bangover,” it’s time to head back to New York as completely different people.
But not before they make one last stop! To reflect on all the craziness, Max and Jake decide to camp out at Joshua Tree National Park. And although they’re friendly with each other at this point, there are still some underlying jealousy issues between them that neither one can figure out how to resolve.
Then Jake tells Max about a magical Y-shaped cactus he researched online containing aloe that can cause hallucinations if absorbed into the body, allowing you to “see whatever you’re meant to see.” With a little detective work, the two find the Y and immediately start tripping on it. Through the Y, some meditation, and a dream that’s a little too real, all their issues seem to work themselves out. But are they ready to go back to New York?
